Of course, assume that the results of this "poll" are honest and not a charade where the top slots were sold. My cynical side prevents me from giving such lists any credibility just because, with a publication like DJ Mag and some others, getting your name on the top of a list is something that a lot of people would pay for quite handsomely. As for what type of crowd such a list might bring out, hell, I wouldn't really care. I'm not a big fan of the techno crowd that exists now. People who are slaves to pop culture aren't all that different than people who are slaves to anti-pop culture. In the end, all they do is help command some higher booking fees and bring in some more cash. No harm in that. Besides, every now and then, you get an artist that somehow siezes on the limelight exposure and sets things in a new direction. Ya never know.
