most of the new trancetracks are just covers and i don't like this . some of the old trance songs are really nice.. i have some on a tape but don't know the artits or track names so i can give you no example.

but to much melody with beat is not good for me

Most people into techno seem to keep a very strict diet of zero melody in their music. I'm very much a trance head but I don't have this reverse opinion about techno. If you get what I mean. Interesting...

Yeah I like a bit of non-melodic pounding techno to break up a set....Kramer style, :D

I can understand why, not enough percussion and near enough always a break or two halfway through the record, although trance wouldn't be trance without this break.

well i love techno, and i love melody - most of my tracks have stabs going off and making somekind of melody, but usually as part of the groove if you see what i mean.
i love melody but its just those 'hi energy' trance type sounds im not into..
i just like nice deep techy kinda sounds..

I don't mind some of the harder trance stuff but it just lacks the drive that techno has for me - there's no groove and no clattering percussion :)

About the only time I really enjoy trance is psy trance at outdoor parties... and psy trance is pretty different in sound from the rest of the genre anyway.
