I prefer the hard german club techno, like Kramer techno, I'm also a fan of distortion in techno, makes it sound eviller![]()
Fave techno labels - Jerk, Psycho, Skull Tunes...
i appreciate techno but it doesnt compare to trance in my opinion. For fear of sounding like a hippy, i think trance seems to go deeper inside you - more emotional like.
i'm into acid techno, labels like hydraulix, and i love techno-influenced hard trance.
i think techno is the way forward though, or some mutation of it. just look at how long it has survived - it has been anally violated on and off over the years by the mainstream and still stands strong in the underground. i don't like to say it but i think techno will long outlive trance, trance is definitely limited and it already seems that things could be drying up (hope not though), whereas techno has limitless possibilities.
I absolutely love techno, its great party music... although i cant seem to sit a room and listen to techno all day, i could easily dance to it all night :D
My fave techno producers:
Dave the Drummer (although i havent heard anything as groundbreaking as the early hydraulix's for ages),
Kramer (redifining the word 'PHAT')
and Marco Bailey... (I really like the funky sorta club techno which marco bailey makes)

Interesting post mate...
I'm really picky when it comes to techno, I only buy stuff that really grabs my attention. To be honets my techno collection only consists of about 30 records, all blinders in my opinoin as I normaly play them at the end of a hard trance set.
Love Kraemer and Podagl's work as well as Thomas Bruchscmit (Tom X), Dave the drummer and a little unsung hero called Jeff Amadeus
also, i reckon trance has a whole load of emotions which techno just cant create, which is why i love it so much...
but also techno has a whole load of emotions which trance cant create
i reckon the way we deal with these emotions sorta decides whether were into techno or trance.....
