what do ya mean by "Basic Channel Type"??Originally Posted by The Teknoist
tracks with the sound i can only describe as having a 'basic channel' sound in it. Check any tracks by basic channel i guess or Claro Intelcto. Check Johannes Heil - 20,000 leagues under the skin. Its like a warm atmospheric synth/bass type thing.
i don't follow
Im confused!!! so let me get this right, "Basic Channel" is like a person/group that makes tracks under the name "Basic Channel"?
Sorry, i thought you'd have heard of Basic Channel umm..

knock yourself out getting into them/it man :)
hahahah
ok i thought it was some new technique or something
well tbh, the main reason i posted it on here is because i dont know how to make the signature sound they use and tbf its mainly used by them and not many others.
Was seeing if anyone knew how to make it :)
wow you should be ashamed if you never heared of Basic Channel.
OUT NOW:
- Orlando Voorn & Juan Atkins "Game One (Ritzi Lee remix)" on Nightvision.
- Cybernetics EP on Labrynth (Beatport release)
OUT SOON:
- Black Noiz on Labrynth (vinyl release)
i cant believe people on here are actually asking who Basic Channel is... maurizio, Berlin, Tresor, only one of the most important artists to have graced the scene
for shame!
so, eyeswithoutaface, anyone? how can you make that signature sound?
bit crushing, big verbs, chorus, deep subs, minimal, solid patterns, big grooves
they have an awesome sound no doubt
its the duby/metalic synth/bass thing i wanna recreate.
beautiful sound man :) i could just melt into a big vat of that and acid haha
One of their techniques was to use radio static from analog radios... they use lots of delays as well and basslines that get in ya head!
I also believe the first remix jeff mills did was for maurizio.
C4.5
P1.1
classic tracks that are more progressive than progressive ever was.
I  Basic channel!!!!!!
I'd be willing to bet they used one of these:

I'd recommend checking out Pole as well.
yeah, Pole rock!
Definately. Just finnished another one a few weeks ago (maybe I should post it up)... I still class it as techno but I know what u mean by the BC vibe. It's that organic ultra minimal dub style way of doing tracks.
Set it up and record it on the fly, in one go while tweaking. Thats what Dub techno is all about.
yeah please post it up man :)
Hard to find, difficult to use - but they rock HARD!Originally Posted by DrewDavid
