Default What makes the perfect demo package??

I put this over on the trance forum but i guess its relevant here so here goes....

What do you think is best? A big pile of papers with bio, photos etc with the CD, or a simple covering letter and demo??? WHat do you reckon should go into the perfect demo package?

Put yourself in the eye of the lable owner. What would you like? Personaly, id send somthing that catches the eye. If you recive 50 cd's to listen a day, would you listen to one that is just a cdr with the artist and track written on it, or would you pick one that has been stomped, looks nice and has a covering letter that says all the relevent points? I dont think it nescesary to send a detailed bio of your life story, just a nice covering letter that gets down all the main things about yourself and your track.

yep definatly go straight for the point .. simple , short, informative text... maybe some labels u've worked 4 (while roaming thru stacks of cds.. they'll probably feel that there is a better change of something good if it's comin' from some1 that's already donne some relevant work b4)...

Very important don't sent 2 many trackz... 4-5 is more than enought...

Phone up whoever it's going to first. Always send it to someone you've spoken to. Always follow up with a phone call or two.

is it better to send the CDs to distributers or to the actual labels?
