not for me thanks - we were considering it after seeing the flyers for it on fri when we came down from london & coventry for the dave joy night, but have decided not to.
i didnt think the sound system was capable of delivering a hardstyle sound. cally & juice played 3/4 tracks i love (f**kin trip on xtc, their remix of blurred etc) but they sounded tinny and lacking in punch, and it didnt feel as if we were listening to hardstyle. certainly in the 2nd room it sounded a lot more like hard house as there was no evil hardstylie bass...
we looked everywhere and couldnt find a list of set times anywhere so we never knew who was playing when, and as for the venue itself, we all had the impression of being in an ikon, with harder music.
the crowd was townie/borderline pikey. i didnt speak to anyone who had an appreciation for hardstyle/hard trance, they were just there cuz it was loud music, somewhere to go. there was even one particularly classy girl receiving a ferocious f1ngering up against the bar 2 ft from us...
i hope this doesnt sound like im having a totally thoughtless b1tch - we travelled a long way for what should have been a wikkid night and we all had way more fun back at mine mixing afterwards. its just an honest review of my night, no offence intended.
