this is cyclic.

when u see poeple cant agree on some topics, u split the forums to enable easier reading.. but some interesting topics are then avoided by the people only reading some places.

tehn u just go back to the good old unique forum that actaully fits to the open minded people...

so that just depends on us, readers and mostly posters, to make this new forum live and keep being interesting, by keeping open minded and dont begin to slag any new commer or guy messing "jaguar" with trance

i hope the other forums will stay, i would like the "OOOHHH THE NEW SKOOG vs WILSON vs AMOK KILL THE DRUM PATTERNS VOL 10 IS A CHOOOOOON !!!!" topics to stay there ;)

thats gonna happen if you have 5600 people on the one board though. You should really just figure out which of the 'techno/electro' boards are 'really' needed and if they aint just lump em in here or something. I think the key is to create an area which promotes a bit of thinking & diversity without offending anyone else or crawling too far up it is own arse if you know what i mean OR worse stuff getting lost within lots of posts about one sub-genre or the other. Techno to me is Dan Bell/DJ Spooky/Adam Beyer/Neil Landstrumm/Regis/Maurizio all rolled into one, whilst being a techno nerd also means that I should have a solid connection with Acid House\Metal\Hardcore\Punk\Industrial\Noise\Ambient \EBM\Electro et all

for sure man, and this is why i really believe this forum was needed. especially after some great posts on a topic in the hard techno forum last week. god please this forum mustn't get to the stage of frustration like that one did. straight away after that post i could see that ppl were using that forum as the main techno forum yet it was called the wrong thing. can ppl just not start a topic next time they have a problem with the forum???? instead of letting it fester away and get everyone hot under the collar (well hey this aint gonna happpen this time cause there's gonna be bans dished out like crazy in this place if ppl don't start to stop being shitty towards each other).

i'm just asking you guys, if you really care about taking this forum forward, please pm me or dirty_bass and let us know when someone steps out of line. i know it sounds all schooly but i really don't care. we're all in this together, trying to make a change and unless we all club together and respect each other, this forum is pointless. only me and dirty_bass have the power to tell someone to f off so if you really believe someone should f off for being a total and utter ass hole, let us know instead of being gay and arguing about it on a forum.

sorry about all this ppl. 90% of you are absolutely amazing members. you've helped shaped this board into what it is, but we all mustn't lose it. if you care about techno and this board then let's get it on. if you don't the get yourself off ;)

i feel as if the people on here right now are all people interested in:

a) treating each other with respect

b) waxing philosophic about techno

c) identifying and discussing groundbreaking techno records

d) appreciating the classics

e) talking about records or artists without worrying if this is the right place for it

f) being able to discuss music with people coming from different techno/electronic music backgrounds

the hard techno forum has been an interesting place to discuss records and artists, but i think it's been deficient of late in each of these categories.

as for the banning policy...my only concern is that people be given the chance to make nice on what could be a mistake in the heat of the moment. probably everyone has gotten carried away once or twice and shouldn't be punished if its an isolated incident and they realize that after.

on the other hand, there were some repeat offenders before (who have been banned), and as far as they are concerned...i say good ridance.

This part of the forum has more or less just become an extention of the hard techno forum now.
We used to have decent disscussions about techno when it began but its mainley fave tracks,djs,labels ect now.

I know I could try and start a thread myself but...........I would rather moan about it and hope sombody starts some decent disscussions :lol:
