i got my vestax pdx-2000 in pieces over the period of a month after i paid £700 big ones for them.

this was all thatnks to htfr,
they sent me one deck one week, with a broken needle,
sent me the secodn deck with no needle ,
i had to send the needle back and then wiated 2 weeks for replacments,
there was othing roung with the decks but the service sucked, me dad went mad after 3 week and blasted the manager!!1

stay well away from them, try www.djstore.com
they will sort everything out and you will get your order in a few days and months!!!!

i either reckomend shure or ortofons, nothing else,

i posted a reply to this not long ago but it seems to have been deleted

    :?

    was i a bad boy? :(

but on the hard to find records subject, i have never bought a record from them because to be honest they stock a lot of rubbish, i have spotted a couple of alright tunes when i had a look a whike back but they wernt in stock.

i did order my rm1x drum machine/sequencer last year from them when the stock dried up everywer else (although the rm1x went up from 290 to 450 once i orderd) *coughs* lieing bastards.

although i got a good bargain on my stanton i-tracks.

they seem to slap on a hefty chuck to the price of some stuff too, as if there buying it from a shop like everyone else then selling it for more.

    for example

    behringer truths:

    HTFR http://www.htfr.com/more-info/?catno=MR101011 389 quid

    Digital Village http://www.digitalvillage.co.uk/dv/a...t.asp?id3=2321 289 quid

i cant see myself using htfr again, and after hearing about your decks cascade, think they should be called Hard To Buy Records

Sapphires (decks.co.uk) I've never had a problem with - cheap, quick and reliable .. and they're pretty good with non-standard delivery instructions as well.

The irony I find with "Hard to find records" is the records they sell are not in fact hard to find at all.

(easy to pick up in your local hmv for less records) has a nice ring to it

the best needle out ther are shure m44-7.

highest output level 9.5mV compared to around 6mV on others, they have the best skip resistant properties(thats why qbert etc use em). and the freq responce is pretty much the same as others like concordes..

    And they aint that expensive....

    75 a pair from www.decks.co.uk (sapphires)

    http://www.decks.co.uk/products/carts_styli/shure/m447

and they dont wear out your records as much if you get into skratching.

with my old ones- stantons you got left with a fuzzy sound after skratching the same point on a record alot.

dont know about other needles and ther wear on records as ive not used em but shure are GREAT......

Pretty much all the best dj or turntablists on the planet use them, and for a reason........they are the best and stand up to the job.

go compare specs between these and the top range concodrs for example.

    http://www.ortofon.com/html/profile.html = 139 a pair....

    http://www.needlz.com/selectionguides/sel-djphono.asp 75 a pair.

id say the shures...... never a prob with low volume records and NEVER skip........
