Default KEEPING THE MACKIE 1604 from setting on fire....

I picked up the Mackie 1604....

    Really LOVE how it sounds...

But I notice after a few hours the things is so bloody hot you can fry eggs on it....

Do u think its harmful to leave a small fan on *directly* beside it?

I have just tried this tonight and it stays really cool even after being on for several hours....

I also did what Furnee suggested (leaving some video tapes underneath so it frees up the vent)

Me and my mate john had a fry up his, we had egg, beans and some spam fitters...

    hmmm

Maybe when your recording you could get some RF interferance. Easy, just switch it off when your recording. I cant see any harm from placing a fan next to it.

A fan next 2 it might not b a problem but be carefull cause the fan might 2 flushing/ pushing dust into the circuits of yer mixer, thus making it acumulate on the board n circuits which eventually will create overheating probs... and that might catch on fire!!

Use the fan carefully!! or use 1 that pulls the heat fromn the inside of the mixer 2 the out side (that will work wonders)! :)
