went down to record box in leeds today to look through some used trance records and came across a mighty bonzai classic, yes thats right a mighty bonzai classic: sean dexters "syntetica" on bonzai xtc what a classic! one of my all time faves, and previously i didnt know which label it was on who had written it, anyway im off to do some more handstands!

or have i just managed to get hold of a rare copy, it was mint condition though not been taken out the slip.

sean dexters remix of yves deruyter - feel free is more in the classic territory, although synthetica is very good.

yeah mate its about 5 years young, how long you been it to hard trance?

they dont make trance like that anymore, i think 98 was the best year for trance/hard trance, and i dont think it trance will ever come close to that era in terms of pure uplifting bliss & quality, the bonzai stuff from 98 is unbelivable, in a league of its own.

totally agree with you on the bonzai front mate, there was a lot of excellent stuff Bonzai, XTC. Tripomatic etc

and im still chasing some of the older releases now.

got properly into it around '97

was definetly an exciting time for me, i discoverd a sound that encapuslated all the elements i was looking for, the whole sound had a sort of seriousness that other music didnt provide.

the sound is changing but its no a bad thing, the key is innovation not imitation. the sound was great but some of the sounsd that im hearing now are amazing too.

admitidly my attentions are turning more to techno recently as i find rythm and texture fascinating, but i also love melody so trance is allways going to be of great interest to me and a combination of both elements irisistible.

the sound is allready pushing forward and im extrmely interested to see were it goes.and i hope to be a part of the driving force in the not too distant future

spot on man, we seem to have a lot in common, i also got into hard trance in 97, but i now find techno as my prefered choice of music, i still hold a passion for hard trance but i personally feel the majority of melodies in trance these days are a little cheesy(im not trying to offend anyone) i just think that its lacking a bit of imagination at the mo, hope it changes for the better soon.
