****! I just downloaded this crappy new FLStudio, and uninstalled the last one like it requested. Not only does the new one start in DEMO mode, but it deleted ALL of my old projects, what the ****? Anybody know of a good recovery program?

uhhh sh*** do u keep yer tracks on the fruity folder????

Never ever do this with any prog!?!?!? always make an outside folder with something like workz in progress then subfolders 4 each prog u use...
that way if u erase, install, overwrite, etc.. u won't loose yer projects...
    uhh damn' bleedin' fuc*in hell I hope u haven't lost 'em!! :)

    hey sam.. will do!

I keep my mastered wav files in seperate folders and backed up on CDs. But projects that are in progress are always kept in the program folder. Once the track is finished, I make a master and saw it to various media. Unfortunately, I've lost a lot of work that I am trying to retrieve, including some tracks for a new ambient album.

Is this just a demo version of FL 4.12??

I bought the version just before that, will it overwrite it? Do I have to pay for the upgrade?

Depends on what version u got... best check they're site www.fruityloops.com if I'm not mistaken. I bought mine long time ago and at the time U'd get eternal free-upgrades. But as it stands I had 2 pay a minor fee 2 upgrade from fruity loops 2 fruity studio, but now I have again free upgrades on that platform!

    Hope this helps,

    Z

PS - Make sure u haven't changed emails or something since u got it, as u should have received an email with a link and password 2 download the registry for the upgrade (if u have the free updates pack that is)

yes, FL Studio 4.12 can be downloaded from TwoCows (or whatever they called themselves)

With FL Studio 4, my production environment completely moved to the PC, automated using an Evolution UC-33 MIDI Controller.

    @topic

i heard fruity now steinberg, is that right?

i saw version 4.x short time ago and i don't like it very much. i think 3.3 is the best version, cause there are some functions which are not in the later versions. (a little bug in the portamento->sample delay and the shuffled delay)

a little bug in the portamento->sample delay and the shuffled delay

    this functions. :)
the bug sounds very cool, its usefull for chordy and deep modulated sounds (delay).

i think all versions after 3.5 are too much. too much functions, that destroys the typical-character of fruity. sure the new functions are very usefull i think (i dont know them really), but never change a running system.

Studio is a great advance on the regular Fruity, version 3.5 was the last version before Studio i think? not sure but the inclusion of a mixer and the various other options available in Studio are very welcome to me!!!
