ableton live recommeneded spec?

What would you say is the recommended spec for ableton live.
Ive tried it running on my machine, its not as responsive as i thought it might have been.
mind you i was only having a mess around with it.

I think u can run it one almost any machine ( my mate uses a G3 laptop). I use a 2year old 2400 Athlon as my main machine and a 1.6 Centrino and it works fine. Just get a good souncard I'd say.

depends what version, and if your using vst's, and how many, and which ones, and how much your doing in ableton etc etc

at the mo im using 5.01 ive only really just starting using it.

so im not really going crazy on it or anything. some one on another board said that it would be my midi lead time that would affect its performance mainly. so do i have to increase the buffer for my midi - cant remember if you can do it or not this is all off the top of my head cus im at work....
