Default What do you think of the UK hard trance production?

Just out of interest, "What do you think of the UK hard trance production?" Do you feel its getting nearer to the standards of the Germans, Italians, etc; or have we got a long way to go? I personally think some of the UK production is awesome, with Jay Walker standing out the most for me, but I feel the UK artists are still following too much of a formula. What do you think? And where can the UK hard trance production improve?

I voted yes but I think its a little too late. What's taken everyone so long? Most of the UK Hard Trance is Uplifting with a few exceptions, I'd like to see them have a go at some real Dark and Twisted trance, Jay Walker could come up with some stunners if he wanted, follow in the footsteps of Kramer and Tom X who are good all rounders.

definately uk hard trance is getting better :D we seem to be producing two kinda styles, underground stuff, and the stuff associated with the hard house scene the later is crap and sounds like hard house with a trance melody, this stuff is getting worse but its not something i am in to !

now uk underground is producing some top class stuff, trouble is hardstyle is eveywhere, and the uk scene gets associated with hard house

i personally play a lot of uk productions, and try and limit the number of german and swiss productions i play, this isint easy but i even try to make the german stuff i do play on uk labels ! this never turely happens as we dont seem to get a enough uk producers getting releases ! there is with out a doubt enough quality stuff out there but the uk scene is suffering due to the seemin need for the kick and the base

gone for a tentative "yes" as it's gotten better the last 12 months, in so much that it's moving away form the hard house sound and developing it's own style....
but still feel that UK productions are far too uplifting - there is nothing dark and dirty on the melody side of things...havent played a UK produced tune this year, dont think i've even bought one in the last 12 months.. shame, 'cos u should support your own country, but the guys just cant satisfy my need for dark dark dark!

Agree with chaz, uk production is defo on the up, some brilliant releases in the last year, but they do it best the uplifting way.. Uk hardstyle is not so good at the moment, too hard house influenced.
But yes i think Uk trance will get even better with the likes of Jay Walker and many others around..

uk hard trance, for me is poor (ill refrain from saying shit dont want to go hurting anyones feelings now...or fuk it, its shite) mind you there is k90 and....er.... k90.

no way near the standards of the europeans in my opinion, like a previous post it sounds too much like hard house, lots of energy, but for stimulation fuk all, although id have to admit i havent bothered to listen to much uk hard trance recently, because i know what its going to sound like before the needle hits the record.

fukin english, spoil fukin everything!!!

nearly all of my favourite uk releases have been the remixes by foriegn producers. for example: red planet, arya, sirens of time,etc.etc. (with the exception of j walker and one or 2 others).

i think alot of the uk's producers create decent tunes, but the germans, italians etc. polish them off!

Mate are your ears even attatched to your head? Your listening to the wrong artists and then your generalising on what you've heard, try and listen to a Jay Walker tune or a Jon The Baptist tune or some of Log:one's tunes in the filez section and then tell me that you think it sounds like hard house.

So next question for you guys: "What do you want to see / hear next with the UK production?" Seems we are starting to sound a bit more like the German's and Italian's, but what does the music / production need next? Ideas?

Most of us explained this in our previous posts, we would like to see some darker productions rather than just uplifting trance.

    Damn edit button!
I personally would like to see them take the UK sound to another level, they've mastered the german sound now take it forward put the UK on the map for something other than Hard House.

So instead of following the German & Italian sound, crack on and create something great and British yea? Time to get out of the fomulas and find something new that makes things interesting again?

because after years of hoping the majority of uk hard trance would become on a par with the europeans, i got bored, and besides i stated that i didnt listen to much of it these days, i didnt say that i have stopped listening to it alltogether, i hope it does improve, dont get me wrong, but i feel there are very few uk artists who really do the job for me.
