    i dont know how else to describe it....!techno with those cheeky basslines (i've heard some on a derrick may mix)

    what djs/artists/labels should i check?

    what do you mean by cheeky basslines? what kind of synth sounds, pattersn etc?

    simple ass shaking bass grooves...i suppose like funk/electro with extra bump to it!

    I still have no idea what you're talking about... but i'd guess you mean some of the hard techfunk stuff that dave angel used to play/write?

    or you could mean something completely different...

    check out5 430 west records., esp mid to late 1990s releases. i'm not exactly sure this is what you are talking about, but it might be.

    Also check out the b-sides of various Purpose Maker records, heard many of these troughout his sets.
    Other labels wich might suit you are: User, Fragile, Transmat, U.R.
