are you using the old cubase vst 5 ?
i just upgraded to sx 3 from vst 5 and it has a new function called 'play order'
its basically lets you work with parts in a non linear way and you can define how sections are played back like a play list.
you can specify how many times a part should be played and in what order too.
i suppose its sort of like a step sequencer but i have not used it yet so thats about all i can tell you at the moment
ello there
u ever tried stepchild? its a dead simple vst step sequencer - i used to use it when i was runnnin ableton live v3 and had to host vsti's in plogue biddule and rewire the lot
http://subminimal.org/tools.php - its at the bottom of the page
'Stepchild is a simple VST based 32 step sequencer. It gives you control over a bank of 12 notes. Notes can be assigned individually, as well as midi channels.'
its great as a scratchpad - just for knockin out quick patterns with - BUT u cant save em.. not the version i had anyway...hope thats some use!

FL Studio Vst
elaborate. eblablablate

If you have a copy of Fl Studio from 3.5 or higher, you can install a vst version which will open with cubase in a kind of rewire way....
but can i use its step sequencer on other VST instruments in CUbase=?
non serviam
You could put a vst on a channel in fruity and step sequance it that way, then it will play back through what ever cubase channel you want it to...
i wont use fruity for political reasons.
thanks for help though!
