MURDER :rockin:
must say i am hearing so many 'new' tunes that i never knew existed back in 1995/1996. makes me wonder why so many djs played so much crap at the time when there were so many classics around
why did happy hardcore exist when that european 'rave' sound offered so much more ;)
more to the point, why on earth did happy continue to live on and the old sound disappeared....
oh we know that answer... money :(
And progression.
The scene had to progress mate
Ure not mad enough, u don\'t belong in this house
Tune id's please?????????

progress means moving forward.... the music went absolutely shite... that's not progression. it's commercialisation. the same formulas going around with no new sounds and no new ideas.
Totally mate!!! In my opinion the sames happening to Hardcore at the moment. Going too commercial. :(Originally Posted by phantomdj

im a hardcore man at heart, but i remember listening to some m zone back in 1995 and loving the sound, then hating the gatecrasher type sound i heard from both mick and mark eg. actually made me hate trance altogether. little did i know that the european rave sound carried on for a number of years after i stopped listening to any trance. i missed out on so many tunes that it is costing me a fortune to buy back all those years. then again at least it is not as bad as buying industrial hardcore records which can top £100. yep, the most expenise hobby i have
it's only been one year or so since i started buying (old skool) trance. :boatheif:
i went from listening to east 17 to scooter, to happy hardcore to 'old skool' trance to hardcore techno/speedcore/industrial hardcore back to old skool trance (albeit still an industrial hardcore head on the old mp3 walkman beween 1995-2006
anyway, im quite tipsy right now on this red wine, think i'll sign out before i reveal anything else more embarrasing ;)
Yep this forum has been one hell of an influence on the oldskool brain....very helpful with some crazy people included. :)
