    Default kicks for acid tec

    hi,
can anyone giv me some info on getting this tipe of kick, gezzers sounding kick is the 1.
ive got a novation drumstation which is pretty close to the sound of the 909 which is probaly wot he uses(the 909). but to get the sound like that would you layer 909 kick with say a 808 kick bit of distorsion and would the kicks be compressed or just 1 of the kicks. and warmed like on t racks or vintage warmer.

dont use vst's to create kicks, there based on synth engines (naturally) and take up more power, simply use sample WAVS and test layering them up, i got kicks that sound exactly like mcaffer uses, but there pretty distinctive and i like to use my own style, but thats just me!
a harsh compression with autogain makes them really punchy, distorting them makes them sound like gabber kicks.

layer them up, get a nice bassy one, then a more mid based one, sometimes i'll layer 4 or more

    Yeah... LAyer, layer layer...

Also layering 3 or 4 and then droping one of them out for a bit can be quite cool...

plenty of layering and compression individual and maybe a group limiter. Something like waves L2 is great for brickwalling.

i tend to use sampled pounding grooves kicks for lower end oomph, then generally a couple of layers of 909 kicks or elektron drummachine (which are very nice and crunchy).

i use battery 2 to layer and then use a nice little Waves or TC Native reverb... i love battery you can adjust each one of the kicks so that you only use what you want from these kicks, ex the bass from one and the mids of other.
