ive never done one either, but if i was to do a remix i would take some identity from the original (unless i thought the original was a bag of shit of course, which in that case i probably wouldnt be doing the remix in the first place) whilst looking to inject my tastes into the track.

i hate hearing remixes that sound identical to the original, its like why did you fu*king bother?
