this is true, i had no bother when using it in the studio. me first one lasted about 3 years, but with the nearly inevitable bashing a small little lad like the 1x4 gets from frequently playin live, i've personally noticed that they're life span is limited (although in retrospect we probably could've been more careful). we're on our 3rd philrees now and i've got an inkling that she's developing a dose o th oul alzheimers. gonna pick up the 3x8 in advance jus in case :)
