Default need help with software installation :)

    hi there

im having some serious issues with Korg Legacy installing on my computer as a plugin.

I tried installing it as a plugin as a VST instrument for use in Cubase SX3. I open the setup.exe file, click on "Install as VST", and a korg box shows up and says

    "Could not access network location\"

The odd thing is that it doesnt give me a location or directory its trying to access. Thats all it says.....it doesnt even say "error 171 or error <number>"

Im thinking it might have something to do with windows XP which is what im running on and ive done extensive search on online forums, and the closest error that matched mine was something called an "Error 1606: Could not access network location".

I did not get this error number, so i dont know what type of error it is. Which is why i cant troubleshoot whether its a Korg error or windows error.

The funny thing, is that if i try to install the standalone version it works perfectly fine, but i cannot get it as a VST, which was the whole reason for me buying the software in the first place.

any heklp would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks Smile

Surely you can't get a cracked version of Korg Legacy... it requires the hardware to function, doesn't it?

the software is a legit copy. I actually emailed Korg and they said it was a bug that could be fixed by turning off autoload on the installation CD and installing it manually by setup.exe file!

    thanks anyways. :)

Yup, and also the Korg Legacy used to be sold with the korg midi controller, but sales werent apparently doing so well so they released the software version only to the public. Thats the only reason why i decided to buy it. I wouldnt be able to stand having that ugly replica sitting on my desk hehehe
