No one is hyping this, merely saying that they really like it, and that Boss has a bit of an edge in what he does, which I think is true.
It's like before, not everyone would have been patting Oliver Ho on the back as much when he put out a record, because we expected him to come good all the time, just like Beyer, Mills, Surgeon, Regis etc. Now Ho puts out a record and we can't stop saying enough good things about him... and it's because we're not spoilt anymore, and really value some records more than we might have before in a way?
I think the 'hype' as you put it is merely extra appreciation for a good, solid record that is in shorter supply these days, and for a producer who is on form.
