Does it sound ok to you?
I quite like techno tracks that dont have a bass, just a kick. Something you dont find as much these days
Do some of you not agree with that? Each to their own, just wondering how people feel about this

Sure I think it works great as long as you do it in such a way where the theres _something_ going on down there..... not really audible in the harmonic bass range but totally feelable through the speakers.
If it's just a plain kick I think I'd be a bit disappointed.
yeah i like tracks with no bass but the ones i tend to go for generally have some sub going on that creates bass harmonics.
delayed kicks often provide nice bass rhythms. i play with that technique alot at the mo
As long as there is something going on in the low end, then I like it.
Otherwise it`s just a waste of a good soundsystem, and kick drums don`t really amuse me alone.
Leave that to mills and his 909

Yeah - I agree - it needs something down below.
Doesn't nessecarily need to be a baseline as such, but sounds empty to me if there's nothing.
Pure F*ckin' Noize Terror...
i'm a big fan of low end rumble with no identifiable 'tune' jus a low of rumbling :@
I am too, but when I do it while I am producing I sometimes feel like it`s as much a cliche as the hardhouse oompah oompah bassline.Originally Posted by module

Acid Circus...need I say more?
yeah if it works then it works
yeah, i do like them kicked
I like a decent bassline, esp funky stuff that compliments the tonality.
i like all,,sometimes plain kick, bassline or some lowend rumble. depends on a track.

loving when after a full mix with a full track i throw some kicky stuff.
it works great ,just piercing through mix getting ppl bit down with tension, but still keeps it up.
then back to subby . but well balanced kick and sub are a good kombination too
if it works, then it works..someone said
as clichéd, maybe, but infinately less gay.Originally Posted by dirty_bass
i think that dropping the odd mostly percussive track into a set can make the basslines in the other tracks seem to jump out more, due to the contrast.
but a whole set of straight pounding with no funk would bore me.
