When Liberator first told me there was this London Acid Techno sound that didn't have 303's I thought bollox. But it's true. Acid techno has developed so much over the last years and there seriously is now a style of London techno that doesn't have 303's in it. It's not the same as percusssive techno - the kick drum is way more prominent, just like 303 Acid Techno but minus the 303 and plus a few extra sounds. And to still call it Acid techno, even though it hasn't got the 303 in seems perfectly fine to me - especially as it's all played in the same London Acid techno parties and manufactured by the same artists.

But what I'm very pleased about is the fact that some artists are starting to dabble with the 303 again and put it back into some of the music. We don't need loads of it like we used to have cause it get's boring but perhaps two or three new 303 techno anthems at the end of a london acid techno set is well needed.
