Lesson in semantics anyone?

If the people who make it call it acid techno; if the people who listen to it call it acid techno and if the people who hate it call it acid techno - then its acid techno isn't it?

An interesting point about techno and its sub-genres, in my experience they tend only to be used to describe music that other people make or listen to...

While sub-genres seem a neccesary evil, I find them somewhat divisive and create unnecessary barriers...

People are too quick to categorise everything, assign everyone their demographic and make vast assumptions on their tastes. This is something that seems to be rife everywhere today, not just in music or techno.
