FJ Project is a bit hit and miss for me. A lot of his tunes are good, just not really good if that makes sense.

    Default hardtrance rocks!

for me, theres no other dance music that comes close!

    @ the mo, im loving:

most beppe barilli's stuff on gas (including take control which would be infinitely better without the awful vocal!)
    robbie & nogera ~ daimoku
ado the dream ~ roll of bass
    andrea montorsi ~ black door
    anything by sa.vee.oh
walt ~ let the music play

    and all time favourite:

    prestige ~ unstable

as well as the obvious classics:

    shokk remix of first impression
scot project remix of listen to me mama
mass in orbit ~ power is in ur mind
hennes & cold ~ get down

just wish there were some decent hard trance nights nearer me! went to oxford last month to see hennes & cold & derb but only cold aka derb turned up so had to endure loads of gabba & other rubbish before he came on & dropped 2nd trip :o) even managed to blag his copy on vinyl which he signed! result :o)

I was shocked and disturbed when I saw the first message on this thread - especially coming from Mr EG .................... but then I saw the date he wrote it and it made much more sense!

Hard Trance went through a proper shit period in about 2005/2006 but things have improved vastly in the last year. I would like to think that our label Intolerance Recordings has played a small part in that. We've also had the emergance of Vandall and hard trance in general is pretty awesome at the moment - especially when you consider where it was say 18 months ago.

Lets hope it comes back to the forefront where it belongs - but we really need the top DJ's to keep playing the best stuff out there so I hope the likes of Mr EG stick to their roots and don't go too far down the hardstyle route. It's difficult to see where hardstyle can go, but hard trance will never die!

Nice post man, i see where your coming from. Yea i agree its on the up. Personally i have been liking the techy side to Hard Trance, a good example of this is Kamui's sound.

For me it will never get back to the days of 2000 to early 2004. (Hennes & Cold, S.H.O.K.K, Flutlicht, Kramer & Pogadl ETC ETC) And i dont want to sound negative there but that was my fav sound of Hard Trance, and obviously it is changing all the time. But on a more positive note i agree with you in that it is improving and coming back to its roots. I feel Hardstyle is to blame for Hard Trances' decline A year - 2 years ago. Imo' alot of artists where trying to achieve this Hardstyle sound or 'Hardbass' sound into Hard Trance. And this is not what Hard Trance is about!!

    Cheers dude.

Agree with what you say entirely - hard trance was awesome back in the day but people can forget that it's perhaps just as awesome now because they have moved on to different styles.

And tech-trance is certailny very popular and increasingly so. With people like Scot Project, Kamui and now Vandall producing tech-trance and more and more DJ's like Kutski promoting and playing it, it's getting very popular. People like myself - and JTB and Chuck-E will never let our love for hard trance guide us in any other direction tho!

mate there are loads of people making good hard trance at the mo

like i said above FJ Project, also Chris + Matt Kidd, Yoji Biomehanika, Bas + Ram, Scot Project, Kamui, Vandall, Sa.Vee.Oh, Tommy Pulse, Walt, Slideout, Cool Grey/Darksucker (Anthem), Synthetic, Dave Joy, Baptist, Nick The Kid of course, to name just a few

I'm even doing a few bits as well that are harder but with a more techy sound - should check all the above out the scene is starting to burst with lots of fresh material again.

wow yeah i wrote that first post quite some time ago hehehe.

i think there's loads out there at the minute. yeah tech-trance is getting quite popular, but then again, when something is popular i tend to force myself to look more in other areas. i think there's some clever hardstyle out there but it's always the hard trance side of it all that works the best. yeah lots of great music at the moment, it's quite an exciting period if you ask me

    I Love Hard T with a passion.
    But...
I am disappointed with the amount of similar stuff out there. Certain producers(you know who you are) simply tag someone else's style of work, and feed off their next release (make the exact same bassline with a different hook, or vocal).
    Or...
They simply churn tune after tune, with identical structures, snare routines, riffs, and melodies. True, there used to be a much larger variety of styles and tunes, but it seems noeone wants to dare to make something different, unless either someone else does it first (and succeeds), or their name is Scot Project, Kamui, Slideout, or Jon The Baptist.

    WE NEED PROGRESSION!

If everyone just started mixing other genres of music, because theres better tunes available (alot of the time there is), sooner or later Hard Trance will be extinct...sniff sniff. ahem.

heres a few that im loving at the moment: Hard AND Trancey

    Cloudchaser --- Trancebreak Waterworld Digital
Ralph Novell --- Back (the scientist rmx) Priviledged Recordings
Nish --- Blue Sunshine (original mix) DOOFDOOF Trax
Marcel Woods --- Advanced (DJ Scot Project rmx)
