Lots of elements are shared with hardstyle.

The new stuff is mint...it's got a much more uplifting edge.

Me and Mike were listening to a Paul Elstack set @ Slammin while we were in the dam and it was awesome!!

The MC's know how to ruin every mix by chattin during the subltle/nice bits!!!!

I agree mate...seems like there attension seekers with huge ego's hwo when the music gets too good and the crowd get too into it then they start talking. TWATS

Never had an MC at my night never will.

Though the ones at Q_dance were subtle and new when and when to talk. They had the volume levels on low.

    ME!!!!

Highlight of my year so far was DJ Promo at North in April - blew me away!!

Can't understand why I can't seem to find anyone else who loves this stuff??

Catscan album is brilliant, MOH, Evil Activities, Ophidian, NEOPHYTE, outblast, Endymion, Armageddon Project... I could go on....

I'm living in the wrong country... :(

I live in Leeds mate and after my trip to amsterdam I feel the same way!

Though I know a few people who are into it. It's geting bigger all the time.

At my night we play dutch hardcore as well as the uk stuff alongside hardstyle.

i live in london and NO-ONE likes it.

i don't go out so much in london anymore, i drive to the other stuff i can get to round the country (stoke, bristol, manchester - came to Cypher in Birmingham last year, when Karim and Scott Brown played)

Ironic really, i'm originally from birmingham and moved - now i end up driving up that way to go to clubs!!!

In London though, honestly, it's depressing. You can't buy it anywhere, can't hear it anywhere and none of my mates have got a clue what I'm talking about cos they've never heard it.

It just sucks out loud. Glad you brought this up though, it's about time more people were recruited to this sound!!

You made it to the first NEO event in Brum :!: Hope ya liked it :?:

Seems nustyle is a nothern thing. It's growing but it's taking it's time. Not one shop in Leeds sells it so I'm in the same boat.

Scott Brown converted my crowd in Leeds to the sound....played just over 45 mins of the stuff. People didn't know what hit em

We'll be caining a alot more of the stuff at our future events.

Would love to hear Promo...did he have an MC with him?

grrr... GIMME GIMME GIMME!!! damn i lurve the new style gabba/duth hardcore out....
we play a fair amount at our parties, in the late morning, nothing like a hard stomp to it :D heh, got 3 hardcore DJs in our crew :)

feel exactly the same 'bout MCs too ... never had one on my rig before and dont intend to!

Tobe, did you get to Midtown? thats the best place for hardcore ive found..and did you find Base (or Bass?) records down a lil alley off the high street with Midtown on? they got excellent hardstyle ('tis where i got my first hardstyle record from :) ) Always come back with good tunes, should be heading out again before the end of the year :D

Had a wicked time in Brum.. my old stomping ground heheh!!

Can't see it ever making it in London though. the clubs are full of people who just want to get wankered and i think this music's just too much for them. too much K, they can't cope...

I get all my cd's from Cyberdog (don't really buy vinyl anymore - can't find it, can't afford to order from online shops anymore - sounds like you just found the same problem eh?? Credit card RIP) but this is because my better half in in charge of the Music Department for all Cyberdog stores, so I just make a big long list and he orders it all from PhutureRave! Sorted...!

Seeing Promo was awesome, really restored my love of music and thank god no, there was no MC. I think he'd have been lynched cos it would have just turned Promos set to shit.

That really annoys me about the tapes I buy of North actually, the MCs spoil it.

mate, there's a Cyberdog in Leeds.

Dunno if they have many of the dutch/european hardcore cds though, if they don't sell it they don't tend to order it from the head office.

Go into Cyberdog in Leeds and ask for Mal, (tall geezer with dreadlocks, looks like Seal) and say "Can you get James to send some hardcore cds from head office?'

    Hahaha! That'll frighten them!!!

You, mate, are my new best friend - keep me posted on anything interesting and add me to a mailing list if you have one man_D@get-bent.net

    Cheers!!!

Cool! Just joined up, so now I'll have a nose about see what everyone's got to say..

If you ever want to send a bunch of flyers down to the Cyberdog in Camden they'll put them out in the shop and at the Covent Garden shop for you.

Have a look at this site too, it's the distributors they order the cds from

cypher should book me too, then it would be better :D

i play some nustyle tunes with hardstyle but it suffers the same cheesy vox syndrome as hardstyle. WHY GOD WHY do they put a man gonna 'feeeel the bass' over the top of their tracks?

dutch hardcore i was well into in the late nineties - 97-98. then i realised it was a bit cak and the uk 'deathchanty' hardcore was better. then i went off that again after a few years and im back to hard trance/style etc.
