But on the other hand, what use is a profile network to media mogul when its users become outspoken against its owner & just use up its bandwidth all the time without ever clicking the ad's. That would be intetesting? To take it down from the inside

If people are so tight with other 'friends' on MySpace, why not pick up the phone and ring them, drop them a mail or something? That's what I normally do with my friends :)

yeah. nothing really to do at all with having friends on there, i deny more people than i accept, its simply a fantastic promotional tool. That's a fact, bullshit aside, ive said once and il say again i couldnt give a shit who owns it, and if people are that against Murdoch for owning it then their views are pretty much null and void if they use myspace. All a load of hot air for nothing.

i don't see it as that useful. when everyone has 9000 friends instead of, say, 100, then how can you meaningfully filter that kind of info? sooner or later something else, which is more effective, will supplant myspace

you dont have to accept everyone as a friend.. i, for one, will be using it purely for promotion/networking. got enough friends in the real world to deal with.

myspace is a great marketing/networking tool, and everbody is on to it. any musician who doesnt have a page is missing out. i think i must have searched for about 30 of my fav bands/artists, out of 30 i think 1-2 didnt have a page.

myspace is also a good reminder of how many talented, unsigned musicians their are out there, ive come across many really talented bands/artists, so much so that id probably say about 60% of the unsigned music i have come across is of an excellent standard. it serves as a good kick up the ass for anyone (signed or unsigned)

You don't see how much poo tang is on there?
If I was not engaged I 'd most likely be in the porn industry by now!
I've had a great deal of networking through that place.
Not to mention girls love a guy with talent.

errrr read my post again. I said i deny more than i add. I have about 90 friends, if i'd added everyone who added me, id be up to about 2000. You only have to go on and see just how many people from within the techno scene are on there, including producers, record labels, djs etc etc.

Of course its a fantastic network/promotions tool, i think people need to stop being so silly about it. Ive had labels ask for solo ep's, ive had tracks playlisted on a couple of radio stations, ive had other labels and producers get in touch and ask to do some remix swaps etc etc all through just checking out on myspace, and i didnt have to do anything more than i normally do when promoting stuff online, and it was free. Well except for the price of my soul of course.

how anyone can not see that as a good thing or not i dont know, i couldnt give a toss who owns it because sure as hell the owner couldnt give a toss about me!
