Default MARK EG COMMENT - HARD TRANCE

Totally agree with what your sayin although i believe uberdruck are in a league of their own in terms of production, but i would like to say i was diggin up some old records the other day and some include

hennes and cold - The second trip
    dj jo - sweet dreams
warmducher - harcore will never die
    jam x warriors
    land of magau
    a*s*y*s - acidheadcracker

The hard trance of today with the exception of Uberdruck hasn`t a patch on these records production wise. Why has hard trance changed when it was already at the top of its game????

the productions quality today is fantastic, what you mean is that you liked this 'era' of hard trance, as we all did, but you've got to move on man..

people going on about how it hasn't got better, drag the scene down..

    move on? new boundaries?

where did the new stuff progress? It is just extremely watered down gabber/hardcore with represses of old melodies on top or unimpressive loops.

It's just formula, uninventive crap (on the whole) made easy for the dj. Now if you compare the modern tunes to the old ones which were made as tunes rather than dj friendly tools then the picture is clear...

On top of that it is now more commercially viable

    and something i said before....

If you have an oak-wooden door... why on earth change it for an MDF one just to move with the times? .... quality is timeless.... the rest is just a fad.

I love hard trance when it is got sharp Arpeggiated gated synths, powerful hardbass, epic melody, phat kickdrum and then the b side is an experimental/ alternative mix. But I don't blame producers for moving on with the sound.

Perfect Example Scot Project hates to be pigeonholed and makes intelligent Hard/Tech Trance
His Remix of Monochroma was pushing the sound to a new audience. Santy Mutari Back Space is another fine piece of work which has got an outstanding cinematic atmosphere about it and impressed a lot of Hard Trance DJ's.

Finally DJ Slideout and Max savietto deserve more recognition after the amazing tracks and remixes they have done so far this year.

But sometimes If it ain't broke don't fix it.
