try sum nice techno electro or sum nice breaks then go in to the 4by 4 train track mode ;)

Go with the hardcore/gabber techno if you have any. Then, just begin pitching it down until you reach the tempo you want. Should be easilly doable in 3 records without screwing up the crowd's groove.

definatly thinking bass heavy....im contemplating some tube jerk or even something huge like "it doesnt matter" by the chemical brothers....

oh and an advantage i have is the only other style of music playing at the same time as me is psy trance....

I always thought that was a bad ass tune. terry mullan used to play it here in the states all the time years back. I have played it a few times in some techno sets and it fits in perfectly well.

pretty long for an average techno track im sure i'd mix out after the first breakdown....

once in a while i will mix hardcore into the d&b to keep the flow going, then slow it down from 45 to 33 after a breakdown. but usually i will start with something with a long intro to break the flow and prepare people for something different. kindof like eating a slice of ginger between courses of sushi.

i've had to do this alot after drum and bass dj's where the crowd are totally into the d+b sound. basically make sure no matter what, you let the guy's last record play out - it's a sign of respect and the crowd notice shit like this. also shake the guys hand, make it out like you appreciate what he's done cause if the d+b see this they might just be prepared to give your music a chance too.

Then (and this is important), make sure there's a good gap of silence between his last record and your first.

Then off ya go, just do your thing and hope for the best. I've found recently that playing your first track of CD and making sure you've mastered the hi's up can help too after d+b cause alot of these guys play worn out dubs.

Anyway hope this helps :)
