I think we need more Straight on black sounding material (more techy percussive sound)... as at the moment harstlye just seems to be following a boring, predictable pattern.. alot of hardstlye is sounding like half assed Nu Skool techno (but nowhere near as good!!!)

does any1 else agree, or am i simply just growing out of the sound?

i remember when i 1st got into djing, id ring up germantrance and they would play new releases down the phone 4 me to see if i liked them, and it was so exciting hearing cocooma, parophonatic, all the spaceflowers etc... i just dont feel like i have that excitement any more and its not good...

And thats 1 of the reasons why i love techno!!!! more originality, emotion and energy than hardstlye!!!

i'm a huge fan of techno mate and the percussion in hard trance and hardstyle has always been very, very impportant to me - even from the early harthouse/eye q trance days. percussion keeps things moving forward and i am convinced that once you remove this from a genre it gets boring, predictable and somewhat commercial. that is why i went down the zany route and the straight on black thing. but you're right about zany, he is very techy but recently it's like he is using the same formula - not good if you want music to keep moving forward. i dunno, i did alot of research recently into up-coming hardstyle for this album i am doing and the genre will change rapidly in the next 6 months i am sure. there will be a definate gap start todevelop between hard house-style predictable hardstyle and the stuff we're talking about. i know which side i will be on :)
