    Default Rooney out?

what do you think should we take him anyway?
do you think there are other strikers in the country who are as lethal as rooney, if so who?

FIFA have said England have until the day before the World Cup starts to decide on Rooney, We may as well take him if he has the slightest chance of being fit for any part of the tournament, 22 is a big squad and we will only use the same 14/15 players mostly anyway. Nobody can replace Rooney but if Owen is Fit then I would partner Crouch with him.

COME ON ROONEY - You can do it!!!

if there's a chance that Rooney could make his injury worse and risk missing games for Utd next season then Sir Alex will do everything he can to stop Wayne from joining the England squad for the World Cup...

it's like Beckham in the last World Cup, he was rushed back from injury and then hardly performed in the competition itself because of lack of match fitness...

if Wayne isn't ready when the times comes then he should stay at home and rest for next season...

Yeah no chance for Rooney now, just hope Owen is fit as you will never win anything without a world class finisher.

They have some thinking to do now but think it is a little late to start thinking about Rooneys replacement, it showed in Euro 2004 what we were like when he went off so they should of planned for this a little better in meaningless friendlies. Tried other stike partnerships as he knows what Rooney and Owen can do.

the biggest shitter about this is we only have crouch as a replacement!!! owen and defoe or bent will not work they are quite the same, crouch is good to come on the last 20 mins or so if you are behind, but to start every game is a joke, hes shit!

    were ****ed :(

If Owen is Fit we know he will score goals for England so we have to find the best partner which is probably Crouch, to be fair he is the only target man option really, at international level you need a target man to link midfield to the strikers and although Crouch is not really that quality he will hold it up, flick header on for Owen and put himself about.
