Default Who should McLaren groom as his sucessor then???

Even though I didn't appreciate him sticking his oar in where Arsenal are concerned, I reckon Alan Pardew could be a good shout, reaching the FA cup final, seeing off Allardyce and McLaren's teams... But then Dennis Wise reached the final with Millwall so that's probably a greater achievement, but I don't think he's done much since.

Jewell was impressive earlier in the season and reached the CC final, but they've faltered since and Pearce would command respect, but looks increasingly shit! Those are the most prominent names I can think of off the top of my head...

Not sure i dont think any of them would leave managing a club at the moment to work as number 2. Lets see how long mc'claren lasts first.

I mean similar to what McLaren did with Sven, balancing both, not quitting their current jobs. Apparently developing coaches will be a big part of his job.

    Stuart Pearce

Everyone knows if it was now 2010 he would have been offered the job ;)

Defo, Pearce would also bring a different element to that changing room and a different motivation style. He and Mclaren could work well together and Pearce could continue at Club management like Mclaren has done under Sven.

Yeah, that makes sense, I reckon he'd compliment McLaren well and would make a better, more natural assistant than probably any of the other English candidates. I'm not sure how well he'd do taking over as England manager, but only time will tell how he progresses.

Well he is still young and still learning so in 5 years time he could be a brilliant manager given the chance.
