    Default kick samples?

I mainly use hardware, but I fancy having a crack at using some samples to make a few tracks. Got a lot of decent samples, but I can't find any thing that I like kick wise. I'm thinking machindrum or decent 909 style. Help me out! ;-)

Why not try and create some of your own. I recommend Drumsynth. Standalone app.. superb and it will teach you loads about how kick samples are made...

Also if you are keen to try some samples look for the sample CDs entitled..

    Essential House
    Drum Machines Series
    Vengeance Club Sounds Vol1/2

The kicks on these are most excellent.

Get Drumatic 2, which is free, and great for kicks.

    or
Microtonic, which isn`t free, but it`s even better.

As kicks are so important I really would make your own rather than trying to fit a sample into your track. With a kick generator you have so much more ocntrol.
    Solitary by nature.
    Isolation is the gift.
Does anyone have courage to stand apart any more?

Kicks are a funny thing, not many people pay enough attention to them IMO.

ther are even more nice drumsynths but these are about the best, i'd say. there are loads of presets for both microstonic and drumatic (the ones for drumatic are to be found at patcharena.com)..
