    Default Hardstyle & Hardbass.....

Okay so I've been hearing the term Hardbass for a while now and it's taken me this long to find out what's goin off...

    1) I'm not really into all the pidgeon holing business I'd rather it go under the Hardstyle banner as it just sounds *sweeet*.

    2) Hardbass is the stuff with the heavy gabber like kicks and no wwwwoomp basslines... But if this is the difference between hardstyle n hardbass where do you put a producer like Deepack????? Here's Johnny is definately Hardstyle, where as DownLow is Hardbass??? **** knows.

People shouldn't even try to put an artist to one style anyway but **** knows why they always try to.

I think it's all bollocks, **** pidgeon holing its all about bein unique at the end of the day what do you lot reckon?

Haha this posts a bit all over the shop I just read it back but hope some of u see where I'm comin from!

    Default hhhh

Well I count the Word Hardbass not as a genre but as the Bass Kick

tunes Like Hard Bass Extreme is a good example

I never really Minded the Pigeon hole Hardstyle, Because its completly different to hardtrance so really it needed to be named under a sub catergory in my opinion!!

But Spliting Hardstyle in 2 catergories is just Stupid (leave it as hardstyle and not Hardbass thats just the Kick in it)

heh...yea, i didnt like his comments aimed towards your night either...

anyway, i do see/understand the need/want for new names of stuff..
when hardtrance was becomming harder and less melodic etc, a new term was needed to differentiate that style/sound from the normal hardtrance...
same could be said for HardBass, it's an evolution of a sound, which is now becoming more popular and needs it's own identity.....just as Hardstyle did...

You could quite easily say hardbass is the term for the raking style of bassline that distinguishes hardstyle, but i think its a pretty gay word, so im gonna stick with hardstyle.

It is true there are new genres within hardstyle - melodic (Pacific Link - Planetary Collapse (Luca Antonlini mix)), dark (Mclaren - Monoid (Hardstyle mix)), techy (Luna - In Control), bouncy (Hardnation - Humanoid (Gary D Hardbass mix)) blah blah blah blah blah... who gives a shit, its all hardstyle to me, cos of the distinguishing bassline, and also on-beat claps.

On another note, i was in a record shop yesterday and saw DHHD - Indication labelled as 'trance', which shows how negligent the UK scene is to what is happening in Europe right now.

It's a shame cos I idolized him when I was a kid. He got me into the scene and the tunes he introduced me too led indirectly to me doing a night (or three)

It's a shame he had such a negative view point on the introduction of the word hardstyle and how he directed it at me. Seems to of forgetten his earlier words when designing the industry flyer.

It's re-enforced my view on only supporting the DJ's who support you.

    Pity....

As for the Hardbass thing..I'm not sure there is a need for spliting the hardstyle sound into so many brackets in the UK. It's not established enough yet. I think the word hardstyle was needed at the time as hard trance had been/or has been trying to get established throughout the UK for nearly 10 years...so perhaps change was needed.

Why split the hardstyle sceneeven further when it's only come to the limelight in the last year or so.

HMM people whats goin on at here, don't u know the difference between hardbass and hardstyle!!!!!!!

To day the sounds of these two styles are close together but there are differences!!!!

If u lissen to the two labels MOH ( master of hardstyle ) and seismic, u will get these differences directly, but when u get spinnin fusion, what style will this be??? ofcouse it is hardstyle, what u will call cheesie hardstyle, i prever hardstyle whit melody!!!

So the diferences, not only the bass and the melody, but think of vocals and percussion, the kick and the snare and hihats

there are many differences, but some of them are close to hardstyle, hardcore, hardtrance, techno and hardhouse.......

IN THESE TIME OF CLUBBIN, DJ'S CAN MAKE A NICE TRIP TO THESE STYLES, ON THESE DAY'S THESE STYLE ARE SO CLOSE TOGHETER THAT IT WILL BE A WASTE IF U DON'T MAKE A TRIP LIKE THIS
i don\'t need my mouth to talk........

Yeah, but what differences are there in the bass, melody, etc.???

I don't think there's a style called hardbass. Hardbass is just a Hardstyle/Oldschool/Hardcore party in Holland. Nothing more....

My bad, but why don't you just say Italian Masters of Hardstyle instead of MOH...??? cause MOH still stands in Holland for Masters of Hardcore, alright?

I thought this topic was about the STYLE Hardbass (which does not exist) and not about the FEELING Hardbass!

And don't go telling me about visiting parties cause I'm from Holland too remember??? I probably visited more parties then you....

Newstyle is quite possibly the worst genre name i have ever heard.

Hardstyle is a very broad term but WHO CARES! Pigeon-holing to the Nth degree is the most pointless thing. Beyond differentiating hardstyle from hardhouse, what more needs to be done, and what is the aim of labelling?

Hardbass is a far better name than hardstyle, I wish that it had been used from the beginning instead. Differentiating between two kinds of hardstyle will be extremely hard unless clear guidelines are set, but I can sort of see the need.
