    Default Apparat and the like

not sure where to post this -

i'm a recent convert to Apparat and his ravey IDMish (sorry, i know) style of music.

are there other artists out there like him? Telefon Tel Aviv seems to have some of the same qualities, as well as artists like Petter.

    any other fans in here?

Ha ha, the term IDM has been around for ages mate! It's what sh*tty mags like the NME use to describe "intelligent" electronic music. Anything from Aphex Twin to Scanner, and apparently Apparat (and the like).

    But yeah, just another tag...

yeah, it's actually a tag used by Warp for their own music since the early 90s. to people who listen to it, it makes sense, but to everyone else it seems up its own arse.

Love Apparat. In Walls is a phenominal album. Prob my fave from last year.

Love IDM too. I thought that term had been around for ages. I would class acts such as Tipper, Si Begg, Aphex even some of James Holdens stuff as IDM.
