    Default studio sound proofing 101

So I'll be moving into a new place on September 1st. The good news is thats like a ****ing palace. The bad news is that it's in a 5-plex with neighbors. For the first time in 6 years I'll actually have to construct a reasonable studio again. I don't really produce my music too loud so I don't have to put too much effort into it. The one thing I am worried about is the bass as it tends to carry more than mid's or hi's. Does anybody have simple and cost effective tips on keeping the bass in? I looked at some of those bass traps but I am not convinced they'll do trick for the $200-300 price tag. Thanks in advance!

build your own. cheaper, and with a little research they'll be much more suited to your needs

Bass is hard to stop.. The only thing that stops bass is mass. Period. Foam sound tiles and etc are just for interior reflections.
