having tried 3 of the 5 (kontakt, Halion, exs24) have to say kontakt is the best of them. One sampler is much like another they'll all be fine for techno. I just think kontakt has better filters than say halion, and seems to have a better overall sound engine. But doesn't matter what your making with it. If you want a better sampler look at getitng yourself a hardware akai or emu.

Kontakt for me, going to give that Shortcircuit a try soon though

Kontakt is also pretty intuitive to use, once youve got used to the interface...very quick to make it do what you want

I started a similar thread a bit further down the board about this by the way...theres a bit of info on there too :)

no way was 1.5 more stable. Used to glitch all the time on me aswell as being a cpu hog. 2 is much better.

Well i havent had any glitch problems with mine and havent had any probs with it being a cpu hog either

I guess it might work better\worse with different operating systems, sequencers, processors and combinations of plugins though.

Or maybe the version of Kontakt 2 i tried was buggy but its since been fixed, i dunno
