"Is this it" didnt really change that much to be honest, but it certainly opened the flood gates for a whole wave of great new american music. In particular New York bands and artists. Some fantastic bands all came to light since then. It certainly had a great impact over here, but not as much as say homegrown bands like The Libertines. When "Up the Bracket" came out, things went insane. It was like when "Definately Maybe" came out all over again, a true, and much needed, shake up of the british indie scene. Certainly a seminal album, "Is this it" i mean, and one that i play at least once a week still, it is truely a brilliant album and captured a feeling at the time that still conveys amazingly from the very first track. "Room on Fire" is brilliant too, the last album, not so brilliant at all.
