Default Sturdy young boy needs Electro guidance.

I am having a down period in my listening right now and as always when such moments occur I am trying to spend some time on a genre that I like, but never spent time on.

This time the victim is ELECTRO (yep you heard right).

OK so I KNOW that I like this:
    Arpanet - Wireless Internet
Drexciya - Neptune's Lair and most other stuff by them
    Dopplereffekt - Linear Accelerator

So... Any tips on other stuff I might like?
I just heard some new EP by Mr Velcro Fastener that was quite aight though a bit too FUNKtional.
I like it moody and a bit wicked.

I really prefer beatless/straight rhythm electro instead of that typical 808 breakbeat.

Satamile are consistently good label with a variety of electro styles.
Monotone is good for 808 styled electro
Electro Endeavours Vol II is a good recent comp.

    Default Lesson in electro!

For a true lesson in electro purchase Dave Clarke World Service 1 and listen to the electro mix! Heard it SO many times and it always inspires me. Personally im a great fan of most of the The Hacker's work.

yeah that's a good mix, but hardly a definitive guide for electro. They'd be better off checking the Electro Boogie Xmix series he did instead

yeah x mix electro boogie volume 1 for mid nineties 808 bizness, and volume 2 for a mix of styles including a classic 80s cut up mix at the end using elements from the main mix. badboy

also worth checking dmx krew and his label breakin', electrix (label), twilight 76 (label), 313 bass mechanics, underground resistance electro stuff particularly slyde and s2, and for somehting a little quirkier try the analord series my afx (aka aphex twin)
