Man that video is sick! Nobody can ever knock his technical ability or skills! Deffo one of the best around if not the best. He's not one off my fav dj's but dont dislike him and he's a class act to watch. Some of the stuff he pulls out is unreal!

eddie halliwell and andy whitby (frantic) have a similair mixing style which consists of making new tunes out of other of other tunes using the volume controls on a mixer + effects etc..quite impressive but i have to say no one has a better stage presence than mark!

ive rated eddie for ages, last year he started to become more noticed.
his track selection isint amongst the best in the world but his technical abblty is by far the best in the world.
He would be no1 in the world imo, but the guy dosnt produce tracks, why producing tracks should have an outcome on your dj'in baffels me but for some reason it does.
give it time and he'll be up there.
Try and get hold of his dance valley set from last year, in fact ill upload it for you sometime today,
He does this mad thing aith a breakdown makes a little noise into a full breakdown unreal.
Ill post it up here today ;)

As already mentioned, technically, Eddie is easily one of the best going. He's a fantastic turntablist. Whats always done my head in with him, is that he usually plays some appalling music. Saw him both days at DV last year and he blew me away both times. His set on the Friday in the Eurogrooves tent is the better of the two, he played some great music. The set that I think you are talking abou is the one on the HQ stage on the Saturday. Still a cracking set, but the first was better in my opnion and I'd love to get a recording of that. He never seems to use his headphones or doing any cueing up at all which you can tell when you listen, he cues as he's mixing in which is incredible.

Yea agree with you there mate. I think he tries to please too many crowds/ people instead of creating his own sound! Eddie Halliwell hasn't got his own sound. The electro and most of the techy stuff he plays is awful. Then obviously he also has his cheesy side but sometimes his better side in which he plays good uplfting trance.

Thats exactly how he played when he did Eurogrooves at DV2006. Really good banging trance, with the exception of the 2006 mix of 'Lizard', but I think thats down to my presonal opinion and I expected him to play that anyway as its right up his street.

i think he's good, but like i always say, if you've got an exciting selection of records then there's no need for all the cutting, fx use etc..... good music speaks for it's self. :)
