We've got something extra special lined up for our November monthly with a rare appearance from the mysterious Various Production plus support from Manchester dubsteppers, Random Trio and Omen. 2006 has seen the Various crew go from strength-to-strength. Their beautifully crafted music, released through their own label, caught the attention of none other than XL Recordings who have gone on to release their debut album to critical acclaim. Tectonic hotshots Random Trio and Omen will be on hand to provide the support for the night, showing the heads how it should be done with a tight blend of fresh dubs. And don't forget the return of the Basstard - expect the freshest selection of all things electronic from one of Manchester's most confused Djs...

some info on our guests at sequence, this saturday...

Various are simply one of the most thrilling electronic pop outfits to have emerged in years - ferocious beats that are manifestly rugged and raw, whilst the melodies are pop incarnate. As Vice Magazine said of the last limited edition single 'Sir', it "could be dubstep cocooned in velvet". On a Various production genre walls come tumbling down and the audacious way they throw away tags and conjure up a new form of music is nothing short of breathtaking. One can safely say that Various are utterly singular in the contemporary music field, even more so because they are the complete creative package - brimming with a vision that spills over into their stunning illustrative artwork, their fresh and bold production sounds and individual style.

The mainframe of Various revolves around two mysterious figures, Adam and Ian. The duo act as a lynchpin around which a vast array of vocalists display their respective talents. You could even call them a collective if it took your fancy.

As Boomkat recently highlighted of them, "force us to choose a single act or record label that defined 2005/06, Various would roll off our tongues without a single moments hesitation". Do not miss this rare Manchester show.

    Other praise for Various: -

"(Hater is) destined to become a leftfield anthem" - DAZED AND CONFUSED
    "Beautiful" - 4.5/5 DJ SUREPLAYER
"Various won't remain such a well-kept secret for much longer after the amazing 'Hater' and now this - FACT MAGAZINE (ON 'SIR')
"The Various crew are unstoppable" - 5/5 MIXMAG (ON 'SIR')
"'See you later, I'd hate to see you soon' has got to be one of the great vocal kiss-offs of our age" - NME (ON 'HATER')
"Nothing more than a throbbing piece of future folk genius" - STRAIGHT NO CHASER
"A smouldering avant-pop classic" - VICE MAGAZINE (ON 'SIR')
