    Default Ground Loop

    Does anybody know how to solve a ground loop problem on a laptop running a firewire soundcard. Its a Dell XPS and RME 400 card.

    can you hear anything if you plug straight into the onboard sound ? if it has onboard sound that is

    I've got one of those thingies from maplins and they do the job but I recently got the Behringer thing and like Mark said; it's more rugged. Plus you can plug TRS cables into it where as the thing from maplins is phono only and the attached wires aren't very long.
