Yeah it dont say any mc's on the flyer but you know the sound engineer will plug a mic in & all the shit hardcore mc's who cant get on coz mc storm is on will end up in the hard trance room.I can see it now all lining up waiting for the mic so they can claim their a good mc when they get the pack. Surly someone muct of told them they are s**t.

it used to propa do my headin all those wack M.Cs when i was younger especially oddessy , double zero , jester , & "the yorkshire cru"... i didnt mind peta pan , storm , charlie b ! infact i had some good tapes with them on ... natz well hes just a funny ol bugger still saying the rhymes of the past today like "hoooowwwaaaa huuuuwwwaaaa ... ring ding diiing ding early in the mornin "
now i find that funny .... but as iv got older i learned to "selectivly" listen to sets and turn off those annoying tw@ts coz at the end of the day as long as people like them they will get bookings the same applies to the DJs that cant mix there "wang-cars" aswell ... also i feel for the last 15 years the scene has been "lockdown" not much room for new talent ... maybe thats why is not as big as the 90s when u had plenty of big promoters doin raves ?? MCs ribbz&sharkey are awesome !!! & mark-e.g - m-zone adventurous DJs they way it should be - unlike those t0ssers judge jules & tiesto wiv thair basic mixing............ .........

You either appreciate or hate MC'ing - its the Marmite effect!

    They need five main components:

    A Great Voice
    Decent Lyrics
    A Sense of Rhythm
    Ability to Hype the Crowd
    Be Entertaining

Not sure why everyone is give Natz such a hard time, I like his style - what a great guy, think he's 55 now, got 6 grandkids and still going to raves and giving 110%, he's been there from the start and is owed much respect. He's a genuine guy with a real passion for what he does and isnt up his own arse like a lot of MC's.

The Uprising MC's are a rare breed - JD Walker, Marcus, Domer, ELL and Natz all really compliment the music. I loved going to the Adelphi as you got awesome DJ's and awesome MC's, but its gotta be your cuppa, otherwise dont bother. Topgrooves set at Uprising from 18-01-97 is one of my all time favs, think I know all the MC'ing off by heart (although you sound like a twat singing along at home!)

The "DJ/MC Motivator" Im not so keen on, kinda ruined Fergus Pleasuredome 5th Birthday set for me :( and its bloody awesome!

Ribbz - NO MORE SHOUT OUTS! - DANCE IF YOU'RE HAVIN A GOOD TIME! When you've been MC'ing since before Jesus was born, guess its hard to come up with new lyrics! ;O) His minimalist approach has always made him the music lovers favorite. Plus he loves to see people getting into the tunes - I love him on the M-Zone Classics Finale Hardcore Weekender 2 as he tries to get a load of knackered old ravers dancing with minimalist moves - check it out if you've not heard it!

Sharkey - well what can I say, other than there are very few MC's I'd search out sets to listen to, irrespective of who the DJ is! I think we used to listen to Steam and Tomorrows World tapes solely in the hope that Sharkey would lose the plot completed and start talking complete bollocks! Legendary!

Charlie B - (Didn't he once smack Sharkey?)the lesser-spotted Charlie B used to wander about a fair bit at the Dome with a can of Red Stripe and a fag on, but I do like him as an MC, heard him do some D&B sets too and he was pretty good. Always good when teamed up with Storm in the old days!

Storm - hats off to him, think he'll have made the most money out of the industry by now! His early attempts at voice scratchin were pretty awful though and he can be a bit screetchy, but he gets everyone worked up so fair play, he's put some serious hours in over the years.

Easy & Squidgy B, both part of the staple diet for techno lovers, nuff said.

Robbie Dee - a legend in his own time.

Marley - Ramos' sidekick, but a good solid hardcore MC, Ramos and Marley were alway reliable for a cracking set.

Some of the worst MC's I've heard were at Diehard, shocking! Can't believe they actually put their resident MC's on the flyers! Sounded like they were retarded!

Finally I can't believe no-ones commented on good 'ol Livelee.... (he's certainly unique bless him!) Can't say he doesnt hype the crowd which is what MC's are for! Met him in Nov at the Pleasuredome, really nice guy, meant to be hanging up his mic now so he can promote an agency he's started??

Anyway, I can't see MC's disappearing, but I wonder if promoters will put on, non-Mc'd nights?? Might be a niche??

havent heard of them two for ages!!! used to dig frosty...quality on m-zone roadblock tour.

mattpone as for mc natz, he definitely does not have any of the 5 points that u mentioned to be a good mc....fair do's he might have been going since the early 90s and for that he does deserve respect but it doesnt mean hes any good on the mic. What he says is just mindless dribble, ripping lyrics off rap tunes, cant see how that hypes a crowd...same goes for all them uprising, dizstruxshon mc's.
i read on the ush forums that people around that area used to go into this record shop and ask for tapes that had natz on.....didnt care less about the dj or the music. Whay kind of sh*t is that?
