Guru is good... not exactly the same as the Redrum, but it loops along nicely with all the same features, and more. the step sequencer is a list of samples that just be dragged n dropped.

thanks for the kind words! guru must be pretty sweet as well as i have heard many a time on k-v-r. i reckon they must have got sued or sth. something that roland is known for as well.

i haven't tried the tatapoum one and had to have a dig in the net to find this version.

i would have suggested microtonic, actually, because it has a built in stepsequencer but it is a little limited (the stepsequencer) and he asked for a sampler more than a drumsynth. microtonic is sth. i'd deffo suggest nevertheless :)

Got Microtonic but I want to be able to put my own sounds.
Preset sounds = gay ;)

understandable. but you can make just about any type of your OWN percussion in the tonic. that's what the knobs are there for :)
