if you did that mate i would think to myself ummmm he's got that wrong!!!

if you labeled yourself as a hardtrance dj and played hardstyle, anyone who knows anything would be able to differentiate between the two sounds, know what im saying?. personally im not a massive hardstyle fan. too much of it is forumlated, monotonous, and samey, and to be honest totally mind numbing. i wouldnt say all of it is bad there though - there are some good tracks out there but imo they are few and far between. compared to hardtrance, it doesnt to a lot for me!

Thats not the majority of clubbers tho, in my experience. Especially in underground clubs (again from what I have experienced), the crowd are generally less clued up and more just up for a pounding beat, regardless of its label. I certainly know a few people - even some on here - who have not fully grasped the term hardstyle, 'dutch hard trance' is what some kid called it. Now i reckon what Voorheez is getting at is that the majority of people are influenced by labels, and imo he is right.

But in most sets I do play a bit of hard trance. I go by what the crowd wants and in the club where you would be, i'd play hard trance then move up into a bit of hardstyle to see how the crowd do with it, if not play more hard trance.

I would never ever get the booking if I labeled myself as hardstyle, and you probably wouldn't come see me, but if I label myself hard trance and play a bit of hardstyle, nobody is going to be concerned (as long as I do it well). This is the problem with labels!

Personally for me, hardtrance and hardstyle together is the only way to go imo.

For me really, i cant play a full set of Either so merge both...
