It's just getting going in Leeds, Manchester,Birmingham and from what Mixslag says Cardiff too, also if you look at the Tidy weekender it only just reaching the mainsteam It's only reaching public awareness at the moment and from what I know is hardly played in enough clubs to warrant such a statement.
Can't judge it by just Plymouth. Perhaps the DJ's are caning the wrong hardstyle? Are there too many hardstyle nights? From what I've been told the scene down there is more of a trance scene leaning on the euphoric side which the majority of hardstyle lacks.
From what I've been reading on this board seem like a lot of people are against hardstyle even those who calim they like it With posts like "what is the future of hardstyle" etc which to me is not really the most positive discussion especially for a realtively new scene within the UK.
Also some hardstyle tunes are slated ie people saying cheesy and WTF is going on!!! etc as if one tune means a shift in the entire genre which will lead to it's demise. With a scene so big there's bound to be lots of shite. Don't moan about shite tunes just don't buy em.
Every month I hear full sets of awesome hardstyle and then get to witness the crowd reaction to the tunes.
What I say is give it a chance.
