    Default Bloc Party

just heard their new track 'The Prayer', not sure what to make of it on first listen, not really feelin the video, but Bloc Party have never been renowned for their videos, which is cool as it's the music that matters...

their debut album 'Silent Alarm' is incredible, my fave from last year without doubt, it was also NME's album of the year in 2005 which is no suprise...

anxious to hear how more of their new material is gonna sound...

I agree. They are great live. Just saw them here in Austin, TX this past summer and have a little video of one of the songs off their new album. It was shot with my girl's camera, so pardon the bad sound and shaky shooting.

Albums out in Feb. It leaked about 3 weeks ago. It's pretty good, my initial reaction was one "this is as good as Silent Alarm nature" but now i've had time to reflect, it's not. First 7 songs are pretty solid with a few question marks perhaps, and then it takes a massive nose dive, i mean really goes into Coldplay/Snow Patrol mode (which is a worry). Lyrically it's a little cringeworthy at times.

    Coldplay/Snow Patrol?!!?

s**t man that's heart-breaking, i had high hopes for Bloc Party, ofcourse i'll give the album a listen and decide for myself but that doesn't fill me with confidance about whether i'll like it...

it was always going to difficult to follow up 'Silent Alarm' as it was such a great album...

Silent alarm was brill, it'll be hard to live up to it! Never know though!

got hold of the new album...

there's a few good tracks without doubt, starting to feel it more with each listen...

there are a few tracks which just don't sit right with me though...
