anyway to break down this reply by Richie:

fair play, you have your view... but i'm definitely not immature.. this is my whole life.

> The sole decision you should make on any type of music is if it makes you move or strikes an emotional chord. If you are making musical decisions based on what other people are listening to , you will always be one step behind.

no i don't agree. my whole musical life is in two parts. 1) what i love 2) what other ppl love. I spend ages researching into other ppl (ie crowd reactions, stuff that's played on the radio etc etc) and then I have music that I LOVE. if i dj'ed for me, i guarantee you i wouldn't be here now. you'd all hate me. i'd have a proper job. my whole thought process is that you can't get other ppl into your music without bridges. it's those bridges that interest me probably as much as music that i love in my heart.

> DO what you want , listen to what you want and don't take the time to find out what the mainstream is listning too. If you like a song and it is commercial who cares. Be real to yourself , and you will make real music.

and then you won't be able to pay the rent. sorry but this is a reality. and i'm 30 years old. all i want is a life in music. the music i love with a passion is very deep in my soul and i play it out regularly. but if i played a whole set of this i'd clear the dancefloor. instead i play music that i love and enjoy but can bridge, as well as music i love with a passion - this crosses bridges to my true music.
