This is probably way 2 late but if u have saved a file by mistake u can use the revert 2 last saved function on the File menu, also check de undo history which I think gets cleaned after a save.. but no harm in checking.

I generaly always make 2 saves of the same file as I go along.. if one gets corruopted I use the other... exemple : test.cpr & test bk.cpr!
Use save as and save 2 both at the same time...

what happens when u try 2 open yer file now?

does cubase start normaly and when u open the new file it blows... or it doesn't even open cubase...

Sounds like u have a busted plug-in or U need a new cubase install... unless u r using a bad plug in on yer track, my guess would b a bad cubase and yer track will probably b alright!

    Damn ... :(

Do u have any way 2 check which plug ins/ Vst Is u were using?
If so try them on other project 2 make sure it wait them crashing de program... Also try the samples u might eventually been using on that track 2 check if they all work jus fine!!
Does SX work with any other tracks u may have?

By this time u must sustain little faith that there is a solution, but just try these out 4 for the sake of curiosity/ closure!

    Sorry I can't b of much help! :(

If other tracks work especially if they use the same plug-ins/ VST Is then is most surely the file! ... always record file.cpr + file bk.cpr... !

Sorry just stubbled appond this now...

This is a dirty why around that might just work for some of ya when migrating form sx 1.x to 2.x... open the problematic files in Nuendo 2.01.. this workz just fine 4 me and a couple of people I have tolled about this...
The only probs is U need 2 work all yer file with in Nuendo (or u can export ... audio mixdown... each track individually then go to cubase and open a new project, import this tracks and bob's yer unckle).... and obviously u need Nuendo!

Not so sure how much this will help, but it did help me loads so...
