    Default laptop amilo li 1705 -problem with sound

    had win vista.instaled win xp but cant get any sound.
    has anyone got a driver for it or know how to fix it properly.please help!!!

    Finding it hard to find out what soundcard is in that machine. But more than likely it is a realtek. Try one of these drivers http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

    There seams to be only vista suppot from siemans for that soundcard, it runs off the intergrated chipset drivers.

    I have have what your card should be - vt8237a

    There is a driver i found here - http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx...0&SubCatID=154

    But its up to you if you install these, do so at your own risk, i accpept no responsibility.

    it'd be nice. it looks like laptop doesnt see audio device(onboard audio sound card)
    anyone plz

    im here, although IQ knows his stuff too, so doubt i'll find anything he hasn't.

    i'll look into it, might not get to do it until tomorrow as im off out in a bit though

    well after having a quick look around i've come to the same conclusion as IQ, the via drivers he posted should work.

    Might be a problem with XP, there was a hotfix released in SP2 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111

    If your running a genuine version of windows, then make sure all the updates are installed and that hotfix is applied. Then try the via driver i posted before.

    instaled SP2,missing patch kb888111 and then driver.
    works fine.
